![]() ![]() ![]() This seems to mostly happen when there are two or more subtitle lines on the screen. Sometimes subtitles lines just don't load. I'm having some issues with subtitles in MPC-HC v1.9.10.ġ. Man, what's up with their software department, like really? I've already been complaining on the soundblasterofficial subreddit for numerous problems related to their drivers / software, but I didn't know this was also a thing. I think it's just a bad excuse for them not to add 7.1. On a related note, would it be possible to integrate an option into MPC-HC so one can manually set the number of output channels, so one could bypass that windows api thingy?Ĭreative says their driver only exposes 5.1 because the cards only have 5.1 physical output, but this is a dubious explanation as you can set 5.1 in Windows and use physical headphone output via their DSP's virtualisation (also I can set my X-Fi Ti HD to 5.1 in Windows even though it only has 2 channel output). The only thing I can theoretically go by is that on the same stats page in lav audio 8 greeb bars are reacting when playing back an 8-channel media. LAV decoder can output 8 channel because it outputs to the renderer, not the hardware directly.īut what is it outputting in the end? At the same time, "internal audio renderer" says it's downmixing from 8 to 6, and "lav audio decoder" says it's input and output is 8 channels. On my AVR over HDMI it's able to output 8 channel. Thank You in advance and have a lovely day!ĪFAIK, it uses the max channel count exposed by the audio driver to the Window API. The other renderers obviously don't.Īm I missing something here? Input would be much appreciated!Īlso, is there a quality guide how to setup all of this audio business using this version of MPC-HC? Perhaps I'm stumbling in the dark after all. I'd like to use the internal audio renderer, as it explicitly supports WASAPI exclusive mode. It also does work flawlessly in many games where 7.1 can be selected in-game (like Battlefield V or Battlefront II). I can verify though, that my audio card indeed does output 7.1 channels, using the driver-built-in channel mapping test app. So, is this just a visual bug or does selecting the internal audio renderer actually limit the output to 6 channels? Or is this perhaps Windows' fault (I'm on Windows 10), as my audio card (Sound Blaster X AE-5) can output 7.1 audio channels to headphones via virutalisation, but when I go to Control Panel -> Sound -> Playback -> Speakers -> Configure, it says "5.1", as there is only that and "stereo" to be selected. I've tried these output combinations with and without the built-in audio switcher enabled, and with and without "Enable custom channel mapping" On the other hand, if I use any other audio renderer (somehow I feel like "Default WaveOut Device" is the next best thing), it does not say it makes a conversion, just plainly says it's outputting 8 channel audio, but, at least in my case - it seems to map the rear pair of channels wrongly, so some channels in the mix can't be heard sometimes. Funny thing is that if then I open the "Status" tab of the "LAV Audio Decoder (internal)" under right-click -> Filters, it says under "Input" as well as "Output" 8 channels. Will the "Internal Audio Renderer" be updated to support more than 6 channels (5.1)? Perhaps I'm missing something here, but when I select "Internal Audio Renderer" under Options -> Playback -> Output -> Audio Renderer, start a 7.1 media and then right click the picture -> Filters -> Internal Audio Renderer, it always states that it does an 8 channel (input) to 6 channel (output) conversion, with "limiter" and "matrix" being stated under "Processors" on the same page. I honestly can't see an alternative to MPC-HC! dll files for MPC-HC 1.9.10.30 nightly 圆4)īefore proceeding, I'd just want to thank the good people still mantaining this piece of software I've been using for more than 12 years.
